The Cake

is done. And has been done since Saturday night at 10:36 but I am just getting around to posting this! I was so relieved to finish it. I had a blast doing this one and I’m not sure if it was because it was the first time I have ever been paid- that’s right, money in my pocket paid- or because it was just fun planning it and then seeing it come to life. I think my customer was pleased with the it. It had some mistakes but I guess that I will learn as I go. Me and my mom are also signed up for classes starting in July and I am super excited to learn more and easier ways of doing what I already know how to do now (does that make sense?).

The cake is classic white cake and the filling is a strawberry filling. Everything was made from scratch except for the fondant used to cover the cake. I like the fact that is from scratch but I need to do a little more experimenting with recipes for a more moist cake.

So here it is!

The cookies were done as favors for the guests. I think they turned out adorable. They are sugar cookies with rolled buttercream icing.

  1. I love the cake and the cookies! They turned out super cute! I am taking the summer off of school and I want to take a fun class. I have been thinking either cake decorating, stained glass or sewing and after seeing all your creations I think I am going to go with cake decorating. I wish I had someone to take the class with!

  4. Thanks Kendra! I will have to give this one a try! I tried a Marshmallow Fondant recipe before and it was a complete bomb! Hopefully this one is better!
