Early morning, long day

Now, to decide what to do. It seems that I can upgrade here. Although, I might take a look into some other options. I wanted to keep this free but I guess if I want to continue adding pictures and you all want to keep seeing pictures then I will have to pay up.
Tomorrow morning we will be leaving our house at 5:00 in the morning. This means that I will have to get up at 4:15. Blah… but it is for a good reason. Lucy has an eye doctor appointment in Metairie (near New Orleans) and that is at least a three hour drive (I think). So I am forever grateful that my child let me sleep until 7:30 this morning. Now, if she would just go to bed right now instead of screaming at the top of her lungs from her bedroom I’de be even more grateful!
But back to the eye doctor. When Lucy was about six weeks old we began noticing that her eyes we crossed. Not so badly that we knew something was wrong but definitely noticeable. Our pediatrician at the time told us that we would need to wait until about six months to be sure that they would not straighten on there own. In the meantime, we changed pediatricians and her eyes only became worse. He informed us that her eyes would not straighten on there own and referred us to a pediatric ophthalmologist. The wait to see him ended up being until just about the time that she turned six months old. She was diagnosed with esotropic strabismus. So in May of 2006 we opted to do corrective surgery on my poor little baby’s eyes. All went well. She came out of the anesthesia and surgery fine and by the afternoon of the surgery my little girl was back to her normal self.
After a couple follow up appointments with her eye doctor I felt something that I’d felt from the beginning of our journey with strabismus, he was not the doctor for us. Very egotistic, very short with us and very not my kind of doctor. I hate the fact that he could act like he did to his patients and get away with it because he is the only pediatric eye doctor around. Don’t get me wrong, he did a very good job on her surgery as her new doctor says that most children do not do as well as Lucy has done. But it really gripes me that he can act the way he did.
Long story short, we found a doctor that we love and we have to get up really early in the morning. So, I better get off of this computer and get some rest.
And I almost forgot, my first cake class starts tomorrow! Wish me luck that we’ll make it home in time for me to go!
